She Pulled Them Herself

Toots came to see me at school. She was so excited because she had pulled her loose tooth. All the adults made the appropriated comments to her. She proudly showed them that another tooth was loose too. Her daddy called later in the day to say that she had pulled that one also. My fear is that if the Tooth Fairy is good to her with big money, she may start pulling out more. LOL

Our Grandson

Our grandson made an early arrival. Born yesterday, he weighed 7# 4 oz and was 19 1/2. Mom and baby are doing well. Don't have a name to use for him just yet, but will come up with one soon.

If You Are Good...

Went shopping yesterday with my daughter and granddaughter. The plan was that if the granddaughter, Toots, was good enough, she would get to spend the night with Papa and me. Well...she was able to keep enough points to stay. We were having lots of fun until she started coughing. Finally called her mom to bring over the pulmoaide machine for a breathing treatment. But after we went to bed, she hacked and hacked, spit up, etc. She wanted to go home at that point. Her daddy said she has done this before. So sorry! Now she will get to stay without being good. LOL

Beware of Spy Ware

We have been without our computer this week because of an infection of viruses. We pay for Norton to protect us and it has done well all this time. But the other morning I walk into the computer room to see the screen filled with filthy, vulgar pictures. Also about 5 warning windows were layered over top of the pictures. The warnings were telling us to buy their spy ware to eliminate the problems we now had. The spy ware had turned off our Norton protection, the one we pay for. There should be a law against it. Hubby had to go through all kinds of maneuvers to fix the computer. It is fixed, but not working as well as it had before. We will probably find more problems have not been caught. Seems we got the infestation from opening an email, or from any site. The disabling cookie lies dormant for a while so you cannot trace its source. Why can't it all work normally and safely?

Curiosity Killed the Cat

A friendly cat from the neighborhood was up on the arch at my next door neighbor's house ready to leap into the vines to catch something. He studied the jump, slipped a couple of times, almost backed out, then made the leap. He landed on top of trellis covered with honeysuckle vines. He searched a second, then disappeared in the vines, all but his tail. My son-in-law took some good pictures that I will share, hopefully today. Don't think the cat ever got what he was looking for. Not sure how he reached the ground or maybe he is still up there, searching.

Who Is Watching You?

On Facebook, I was typing a post about www.celerystreet.com for recycled purses, when up pops this link for me to use about the web site, complete with pictures. How did the computer/facebook know I was getting ready to post about celery street???? I find that very scary.

Pie in the Face Motivation

My kids at school are so done with school work after such beautiful weather and daylight forever in the evenings. They are not focused nor do they care about school. We have some important tests to take and the scores really matter. One of the teachers came up with the idea that if 95% of them go up on their score, the class can throw a pie in her face. So, I decided to offer that to my class. They loved it. I added that if 95% reach their target goal, each of them can throw a pie in my face. I'm so hoping I get pied. One little girl innocently asked if they can eat part of the pie. Sure, you can lick my hair clean.

Good Food, Great Company

We were able to eat lunch yesterday with friends who happen to be the other set of grandparents for our granddaughter, Toots. We had a good time while Toots had the best. As she sat down to eat she turned and said, "I get to sit between my two Mimis." What sweeter words could we hear!
Above is a picture of her digging for dinosaur bones at the museum. She played with the sand and bones for the longest time. Didn't think we were going to get her out of there.

Movie, Popcorn, and Friends

I took my granddaughter, Toots, to see the movie How to Train Your Dragon. (It only cost $7 per person for ticket and food compared to $16.50 per person when we took our grandsons last week.) By the way, we did not ride our bicycles to the movies, no matter what she tells you. We were the first in the seats and patiently-NOT-waited for her friend to arrive. As people filtered into the place, Toots commented on who they were, if she knew them, and questioned their seat choices. Her friend arrived just before the movie began, and we glued our eyes to the screen. Toots and her friend talked out LOUD several times, but so did others including adults. Toots bounced in her chair creating a cloud of dust. She rocked back and forth so hard I thought she would have whiplash. She ate popcorn and drank her root beer. She found the stream of light from the projection house to the screen and chastised someone for shining the light. I worried that parts of the movie would be too scary, but I don't think it bothered her, because she wasn't watching the screen at that moment. But she liked the movie!

Stupid, Annoying Sound Machine

So, I'm sound asleep, dreaming weird, but happy dreams, when this annoying sound shocks me into semi-conscious alertness. What is that ugly noise? What day is this? Honestly, I can't think. I run through my groggy mind pictures of what I did yesterday, hoping to determine the current day. Finally, when I figure out it's FRIDAY, I struggle to make the ugly noise machine stop talking to me. (I need my coffee.) I push the usual button twice, but the noise continues to annoy me. Uncharacteristically, I search and find another button to push, but the blaring continues. I successfully change it to another mode that is counting down from 60, but didn't silence the beast. Frustrated, I find the plug to kill the thing! I'm awake now!!

Whistle While You Laugh

While riding in the car our granddaughter informed us she can now almost whistle. And she is close. So Papa whistled and was declared the goodest whistler. When I whistled a song, Toots proclaimed that I was better than the 7 Doors! (You know, those little men with Snow White.)

Hubby Update

Hubby is going to rehab on his repaired rotator cuff. If you roll down your window around noon on M, W, F, you will hear his screams. He says it is so unbelievably painful. We are both hoping that the end result will be freedom from pain. His current goal is to reach in his back pocket to retrieve his bill fold. Seems so easy, yet no.

How to Steal Your Money at the Theater

Went to the movies with daughter, husband, and two grandsons last night. Highway robbery!!! The tickets were the least expensive item. Popcorn and two drinks were $18.50! We bought one more drink and two boxes of candy for a grand total of $40.00. How can families afford this? And while standing in the front of the long line, a popcorn kernel flew 10 feet, hit my husband on the neck, and went down his shirt, burning him in the process. The worker did say, "Sorry about that." One guy took our order, no, wait. He just looked at the cash register. After hubby had completed the order, the guy asked what kind of popcorn we wanted, our first order. Then after he took the order, rang it up, he walked away. After a long pause, some other young man steps up and asks our order. Frustrating. If I lived near this theater, I would be smuggling my own food in to enjoy. Almost choked on the popcorn. The movie How to Train Your Dragon was awesome.

Let's Play School Marm and Daycare Provider

Toots spent the night with us last night for our enjoyment and so her dad can sleep this morning after his night shift. She was is the teacher mode, giving me assignments, deadlines to finish, and admonishing me when I didn't. After I had colored the 4th paper of her pretend homework, I finally told her I saw her method. She was getting me to do the homework. If she becomes a teacher, I pity her students. She didn't show me any mercy. And while I was working during the three minute time limit, she was patting to sleep two of her babies' behinds in daycare. I know that children imitate what they see.....

The Lord Provides

My nephew was just awarded a very profitable scholarship that will pay for all of his college. He is so worthy. Thank you, Lord.
