Musical Brings the House Down

It was an exciting morning during worship service at our church Dec. 23. As the adult choir began singing their opening number to their Christmas musical, a crack was heard, followed by the bulkhead falling on people. Wood, lights, speakers, ceiling tile, and wallboard showered several rows of the 600 worshippers. Our emergency team went into action immediately, treating the injured and getting the others out of harms way. At first, it was believed that the balcony was falling. And it was reported as such, with fatalities. But, praise the Lord, only minor injuries were incurred. Our church made the news both on TV and in newspapers. At least we had the opportunity to advertise our Christmas Eve services to be held in another building tonight. My guess is that service will be full of thankful parishioners.
