The Wedding Ceremony
The big wedding day for our daughter is tomorrow. My brother is a minister and will be doing the ceremony. Since he is always so busy I took the liberty to write some opening comments and some vows for him to choose to use tomorrow.
Here is the first one:
Dearly Beloved and other people,
We are gathered here together in this public place (because we have nothing better to do) to end the freedom of these two young, well, almost young, people by joining them together in holy matrimony aka marriage.
Or maybe they would prefer this one:
Welcome to all of you who decided to come see if this event would really happen. Everything is on schedule and neither has backed out even through all the preparations. (Although hubby did have to promise the groom the bequeathing of his BMW.) (Not really, other sibs.)
But maybe this one will do:
Let's make this short, sweet, and to the point. (To groom) "Do you?" Groom answers, "Yes." (To the bride) "Do you?" Bride answers, "Yes." "Done! I now sentence you to a lifetime of happiness. Let me be the first to present him and her--you all know who they are or you shouldn't be here."
I wait with anticipation to learn which one the couple will choose to use. You can use this opportunity to let them know which one you would choose for them in the comment section.
