Pre-own a Used Vehicle

Hubby and I decided it is time to look for a new (to us), but used suv, so the search has begun. With the aid of the internet the search is far and wide. Now they just need to come up with a way to kick the tires while online. Speaking of used, don't you just love how the terminology has changed from used cars to preowned? Does preowned also refer to previously married? Dropouts can now be called preschooled. The dead can be known as the preliving. The gravely ill patient is now the predeceased. Pre- is a prefix which means before. Preheat means to heat it before you bake the cookies. Preview means to view it before you see the movie. Prewash means to wash the stain before you wash the item. You get the picture. So a preowned vehicle can only be a vehicle that has been owned by one person. If I buy the suv, then preowned means I owned it before the owner. A used vehicle should be called post-owned, or better yet, recycled!
